A Bit About Me

I’m Ismani Sun, a multidisciplinary artist from Atlanta, Ga, with roots in fine art and a deep love for storytelling. Whether I’m painting a portrait, illustrating a children’s book, or designing a public sculpture, I’m always searching for the heart of the story—and a way to share it. Trained as a fine artist in traditional oil painting, I now bring that foundation into the world of children’s illustration, where color, character, and storytelling meet. My work is inspired by the textures of real life, the beauty of cultural identity, and the quiet magic found in everyday moments.

In addition to books, I’ve designed sculptural public artworks that invite reflection, connection, and joy. Whether working on a large-scale installation or a single illustrated page, I aim to create spaces—real or imagined—where people feel seen, valued, and inspired.

Each project, whether personal or collaborative, is an invitation to see ourselves more clearly and connect more deeply with one another. To explore my latest projects, illustrations, and upcoming titles, visit www.ismaniart.com or follow along on Instagram @ismanisunart.
